Well, dang it. This was one of those days that didn’t turn out at all like you’d hoped. Yesterday afternoon, Kiki started complaining of not feeling well. Her cousin had spent the night, but by this point all Kiki wanted to do was flake out in front of a movie. When my sis dropped by to pick up her daughter, Kiki didn’t even come out to say ‘hi’… which is so not like her. By last night she was running one heck of a temperature. It has gone up and down all day today – between 102 to 104. She has basically laid around all day today. Well, except she woke up at 6am and said "I feel fine now, can we go to Sunrise Service?" I replied, "no, you’ve been running too high of a temp., we can’t go out today." Which totally bummed me out, because it’s Easter! No church, no family meal…. pooh-ee. Then she popped back up at 7am, and it was all about when was I going to put out her Easter basket, and could we get up now, and blah blah blah blah……. (when she gets going, oh, man…!) We got up about 8, did the basket deal, then she laid around until daddy got home from church, did a quick egg hunt, then he left to do the ‘family meal’ with my extended family and Kiki and I watched another 2 or 3 or a million movies….. Somedays it’s just hard being a mom. Poor kid, she was pretty upset about missing Sunrise service (we do a pretty cool one). Not to mention she feels crappy! I haven’t been able to bring her temp. below 101 even with Motrin. If it’s still up tomorrow, I’ll take her to the doctor, but I’m glad I didn’t have to go to the ER today! I mean, she’s not eating much, but she is drinking, so I don’t think she’s getting dehydrated. The weird thing is, she isn’t complaining of any particular ache or pain. She says her tummy hurts a little. She isn’t throwing up or anything – just steamin’ hot.
So that was my Easter. I can tell you I snarfed down waaaay too much chocolate since I was sitting around here with it calling my name and no one to keep me out of it!! Urgh. My belly feels bloated.
The cat, of course, found a way to enjoy the Easter basket…..
Guess he didn’t read that "danger of suffocation" warning on the bag… !
